A Sansula has a wodden frame which is covered with a membrane and the Kalimba is mounted in the middle.
The Sansula Basic Melody has 11 tines which is a wonderful, little larger model for beginners as it has 2 more tines than the other Sansulas.
Every Sansula comes pretuned so you can play right away. You can also easily retune your Sansula.

The Sansula - a patented innovation from Hokema - is an innovative development of the Kalimba (also known as Sansa or Mbira).
A Sansula has a wodden frame which is covered with a membrane and the Kalimba is mounted in the middle. The vibrations of your music are first kind of `stored` in the wooden base.
From here they are transmitted to the resonating membrane. This way you are able to create far more prolonged tones than with other methods of amplification.
The membrane depends on which model you choose.
The Sansula Basic Melody comes with a cellulose membrane which is not suitable for small children as it is very sensitive.
If you like a Sansula for pre-schooling or kindergarden we suggest the Renaissance or Deluxe.
Please note that this Sansula will not fit in the 9-tine bag as it has 11 tines.

The Kalimba block is made of American Cherrywood, the frame is made out of beech wood.
